Get to Pick’n!

The wild raspberries are ripening! Did you know raspberries contain significant amounts of antioxidants linked to potential health protection again several human diseases and cancer? It’s true!

Raspberries actually rank near the top of all fruits for antioxidant strength. Plus they are among plant foods with the highest fiber contents known and are a rich source of vitamin C as well as contain B vitamins, folic acid, magnesium and more. AND you can find them for FREE in your own timber!

So get out and enjoy what Mother Nature is offering – get some fresh air, some walking in and then reap the rewards of wild raspberries! The great thing with wild raspberries is once you find one bush, you often find more nearby! And they are there every year so just note the locations for next summer!

If you have an easy access area where some bushes are – take the whole family as it is so fun to pick berries. It’s important not to introduce kids (or anyone new) to hunting first, but to the wonderful outdoors first. That way they will always respect and appreciate nature whether they grow up to be hunters or not. This is a great way to do just that and they see how meaningful it is to bring healthy food home to the table.

Maybe even make your own smoothies!
