Primos TruthCam 46

Update: Jan. 2016 This camera is still going, still taking photos. The batteries do seem to die faster especially in the cold. I think I got my money out of this one 🙂

Update: Dec. 2013 This camera is still running strong, but starting to show some sign of wear. The power button does not turn the camera off any more, I have to pull a battery to shut it off. It is however still taking great photos and last fairly well in the cold. Still a solid camera.

This is the latest trail camera I have added to my scouting efforts. I have been using this camera since the middle of July (2012) and it has performed well for me. The only problem I had was a battery exploded on its first sit. Not sure if it was the camera or the battery that caused the leak. The camera worked great after new batteries were installed. This has been a great trail camera for under $100.

  • Battery Life – this camera will out last all others, and from my experience with similar Primos models, should outperform in cold temps as well
  • Pictures – good daytime pics at 5.0mp with 3 settings to choose from
  • Modes – Video and still photos
  • Finish – blends in very well with a neat Realtree camo finish
  • Delay – you can choose as low as 10 seconds
  • Price – I have seen them as low as $99
  • Warranty – 1 Year

  • Interaction – deer seem to notice the camera at night
  • Batteries – runs on 4 “D” batteries
  • Buttons – I unable to turn the camera off with power button
