360 view from the stand:

This morning was cold, but so beautiful. Getting in, it was completely still. However, we had our first hard frost so as soon as the sun came up and started warming everything a tad, the leaves rained down all morning all around me. It was really something to see! The wind was pretty much non-existent and the sun was shinning while it was a cool, crisp fall morning – this beauty is hard to beat!

The stand I chose this morning is a new one and was my first time sitting in it. It is 20 yards off a nice pond that wasn’t affected by the drought this summer. I’m after a doe again this morning so this is where the does had come by the morning before. I saw six does, coming from two different directions, but the ones that were heading my way to the pond acted like something was wrong a long ways from me and upwind from me so I don’t know what that was about. The does have been really spooky and weird often so far (like it’s after gun season but it’s early bow!) so who knows! It happens! It was a really loud morning with all the leaves falling so that probably didn’t help the does’ nerves anyways.
